Sensory Room

Why not take the opportunity to try out our new sensory experience. The room is available for hire at very competitive rates and is usually open: –

• between 09:00-20:00, 7 days a week during busy periods.
• Winter seasonal opening hours vary; therefore, it is best to check availability beforehand.

However, our overall aim is to ensure that this facility is open to the general public in addition to hotel guests and Seren’s individuals as much as possible.

This new Sensory room was inspired by one of our individuals who felt it was important to ensure that as many people as possible were able to access the facilities. Seren worked closely with Adra – a Community Housing Organisation – converting a storage room into a calming and holistic sensory experience. Over the course of several months, we adapted the room, with Adra providing their skilled labour and working with their contractors/suppliers to donate the raw materials to transform the space. During this period, the individual who inspired the original idea took an active role in proposing, researching, designing, planning and choosing the final specialist equipment having attended demonstrations from several companies. An open day hosted by Seren together with our individuals was held to celebrate the new Sensory room which has been offered to the wider community free of charge for the first year in recognition of the support we received from Adra together with financial support from the National Lottery and Engie to achieve our goal.
