Prestige Awards 2024-25 & 2025-2026 Disability Support Non-Profit Organisation of the Year

The Prestige Awards was launched to celebrate the businesses and individuals that consistently offer excellent products and services. The judging panel base their decisions upon areas such as service excellence, quality of the product/service provided, innovative practices, value, ethical or sustainable methods of working, as well as consistency in performance. The winners selected are those who can best demonstrate their strengths in these areas.

“It was an honour to have been recognised with this award in 24/25, and we were VERY proud to have received it again for the second year in a row”. Our aim is to ensure that our individuals live their best possible lives and to support them in achieving this goal. This year, we took 2 of our individuals with us to pick up the award. They said they had ‘the best time’ and enjoyed the whole experience immensely … although they were keen to get back in time for their snooker game!

Gwynedd Sports Awards (Byw’n Iach) | Inclusive Provider of the Year 2024 (2nd)

Hosted by Byw’n Iach, this event shines a light each year on the achievements of exceptional individuals and teams across a range of sports, celebrating their hard work, dedication, and talent. This year was no exception, with awards presented to a remarkable group of athletes, coaches, and contributors who have made a lasting impact on the sporting landscape in Gwynedd.

A team member stated “We practice really hard and enjoy playing football on a Monday with the Coach. I really like our kit too – we designed it ourselves – it’s cool isn’t it! We’ve started playing in competitions now too and I reckon we’re going to win next time!”

Employer of the Year – Work Based Learning 2024 | Grŵp Llandrillo Menai

Grŵp Llandrillo Menai Work-based Consortium hosts an annual Work Based Learning Awards to recognise talented apprentices for their outstanding contribution in the workplace and beyond.

The Team at GLLM said ‘Through its leadership and culture, Seren Cyf not only excels as a business providing opportunities for individuals with learning disabilities, but it is also an excellent employer who supports team members to develop and grow by completing Level 2 Health and Social Care apprenticeships, as well as Level 3 and beyond.’

“We offer a bilingual service to respond in our individuals’ language of choice, many of whom are Welsh first language. This is also true for the majority of our staff, with over 95% being fluent in both languages. As a small charity based in a traditional slate mining area, we feel it’s important to celebrate our culture and heritage. We were very proud to have received this award in recognition of our continued investment in this area”.

Social Farms and Gardens

The Social Farms & Gardens Community Management Awards (CLAS Awards) funded in 2025 by Welsh Government began in 2019 and are run by SF&G to acknowledge the community management of green spaces.

Green spaces include a range of vegetated land such as parks, community gardens, orchards, woodlands and hedges, informal green spaces, allotments and food growing sites, plus areas of water, including rivers, canals, lakes, ponds.  Community managed spaces like these are valuable for both people and nature. They are also run by volunteers who give up their spare time for their local environment and community. The Welsh Government funded Social Farms & Gardens Community Management Award is a stepping stone to achieving a Green Flag Community Award run by Keep Wales Tidy.

To achieve this award, groups need to show that they are insured for their activities, have permission from the landowner to use the site, that they are involving the community in their decision making and working with partners such as the local authority.

“This award celebrates the culmination of 4 years of hard work from staff, individuals and volunteers who have all helped to turn around what had become an overgrown landscape following Covid into a welcoming and mindful wildlife haven with views overlooking the Eryri (Snowdonia) mountain range and Osprey bird sanctuary.

.. and we’ve still got more ideas to develop, so watch this space!
